| Mocha is a full blooded Tennessee Walker. The elegant walk and nature of the Walker is evident in her, as is the mild nature. Mocha (age 2) arrived on the farm malnourished and very small in the Spring of 2004. She has had no problem gaining weight and showing off her silky fur. And despite her name, Mocha actually enjoys the occasional Big Red over any other beverage. We do have to watch her closely though because she will eat anything. We actually caught her trying to eat a tape measure. Mocha is simply the smartest horse on the planet. She is four-years old but is already better trained than many adult horses. Extremely lovable and social, Mocha can almost always be found with people or horses - she gets along beautifully with both. She has demonstrated a great connection with children and people with all levels of need - which is sure to be a sign of good things to come. Last fall, Mocha was used in the program with teens in grooming. She was in heaven! She loved the attention, and she absolutely loves to be groomed! And, if you don't give her enough attention, she'll let you know. She has been known to run off with grooming equipment, blankets, and tack just to get a little attention. While she has a way to go before she is ridden in the program, she is definitely full of life and loves everyone that comes to the program. She is famous for her kisses! Mocha passed away in November 2009. She died of colic, and it was very quick. She impacted the lives of so many people. She will be greatly missed! |
