ELVIS
"I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse,
whose rider is called Faithful and True..."
Revelations 19:11
I write to you tonight with a heavy heart and tear stained cheeks.  The vet was out, again.  After careful
examination, Elvis was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive tumor. (which we all feared)  This tumor was
growing so rapidly that suffocation or starvation was in his very near future.  The tumor was in his jaw bone and
protruded out a hole in his cheek.  There was no way to cut out the tumor.  If there had been a way to cut it out,
Elvis would have bled to death due to his age (at least 30) and the kind of tumor.

Sparing all the horrible details, I made the incredibly difficult decision to put Elvis down.  This decision was not
made lightly or hastily. To be honest, it was the most difficult decision I have ever had to make. I really am waiting
to wake up and the nightmare to be over.

Brad, my brother-in-law's friend, was the vet.  He was so compassionate and loving.  He was a blessing.  He spent
the better part of the afternoon and evening waiting for us all to tell him goodbye.  He wasn't in a hurry, he showed
true compassion. He even cried with us. He tried every route he could to save Elvis.  It just wasn't possible.

Elvis was buried on my parents' land.  There was no way we were parting with our beloved Elvis. He isn't suffering
anymore.
